Big Weekend for Margot

Margot had a big weekend!  She joined her grandmother for two days and nights at Lisa's childhood camp in Maine.

She got to do a bunch of new things:
Archery!

Boating!

Tennis Lessons!

Swimming at the beach!

All in all it sounded like a great weekend, and that's without even talking about lobster dinner, costumes, campfire, sleeping in a cabin... or pretty sunsets:

Big Weekend for Isla

Isla had a big weekend!  We went to the mattress store to get a twin mattress, and put together her big-girl bed, with a corresponding re-organization of her room!

If that wasn't enough, we also hit the bike store to make sure she had a good ride since she's working so hard on biking and ready for a smoother experience:

And away she goes!

Super Pie Day - 3/14/15

Happy Super Pie Day, 3.14.15!

Since it falls on a Saturday this super-year, we celebrated at work on Samoa time (UTC+14hrs) to move 3/14/15 9:26:53 AM to 3:26PM Friday.  And a good time seems to have been enjoyed by all!  By my count we had ~16 proper pies, plus whoopie pies, Samoan "paifala" pineapple pocket pies, and a delicious quiche.  Also rumors of a spinach pie sadly left at home by accident.

Snowmageddon 2015 - Episode 2

There is an impressive amount of snow out there.

Hasn't really been coming down for an hour or two, but I think we got more than two feet everywhere, and there are drifts to my waist.

There's a Miata in here somewhere...

Around four hours outside earned me maybe half the driveway clear and enough of the front walk to get to the car.  Which is not dug out, by the way.

We could conceivably drive out, but only because a neighbor up the street took a swipe or three at the plow mound with his plow.

But we had some fun!

Snowmaggeddon 2015 - Episode 1

I appear to have overestimated the overestimation of this storm.

(Before)
(T plus twelve hours)

This one-foot ruler is approximately one foot above the ground at the bottom.

The forecast says we will have continuing snow and 25mph winds for most of the next twelve hours as well.
